Applying to write

The application, the test, and what happens after you apply.

How do I apply to write for you?

Apply through the join our team page. The form asks for your name, your email, a short cover note, and your CV.

We review applications and get in touch once we have. From there, a passing candidate moves to the written test.

What is the recruitment test?

We email you a link to the test once your application moves forward. You download the source document, complete it within the time allowed, and upload your clean and tracked-changes copies back through that link.

There are two test types: a proofreading test and a stylistic test. We send you every test that is active at the time you apply.

What happens after I apply?

You can sign in and track your application on your candidate dashboard at any point after you apply. It shows where you are: application received, test sent, test returned, or interview stage.

If your test is accepted, we book a short interview. After that, we make a hire or reject decision and let you know.

What experience do I need?

We look for a native English speaker with excellent written English, and demonstrable proofreading, copy editing, or academic writing experience. Genuine attention to detail matters more than any single qualification.

We also want professional, prompt written communication, since you will correspond with us and, occasionally, customers. We hire internationally, not only in the UK.
